Do you need to switch to distance learning quickly and smoothly? Here's how!

Teaching during the era of Covid can certainly cause some anxiety. My school board is starting out face to face. But, the possibility of teaching remotely hangs over our heads, especially as the number of Covid-positive cases rise daily in our area.

Today, I'll quickly share with you how I'm planning for the possibility of suddenly switching to distance learning. Keep reading, below.

Distance Learning Planner

I use my digital teacher planner on my Smart Board each day. My plan is to model the use of this planner and, ultimately, have the students be able to navigate it themselves. In my case, teaching special education, they'd have the support of their parents during remote learning. Some day maybe I'll show a video of myself using the Smart Board, but I'm still a little camera shy at the moment!

I always start out with the welcome slide and highlight the important events of the week. We look at our daily schedule together and then switch to the activities for the day. While in PRESENT mode, I have them click the activity icons to switch to the video, or website or read aloud on EPIC.

Here is an example of an assignment slide, with links to websites, Kaboom, and Boom Learning:

I know that you will LOVE this digital teacher planner for blended learning as much as I do!  It will give you the confidence to go from face to face teaching to distance learning. Your students will transition much more easily to online learning with this support and structure already in place.

You can find my FOREST FRIENDS and other Happy Pixels' Teacher Planner and Assignments Slides in my Teachers Pay Teachers Store!
